The 566th SMS
was in charge of the only American ICBM missiles every deployed east of
the Mississippi River. Construction on the silos began in 1961.
The 566th became fully operational on September 15, 1964, but was
deactivated less than a year later on June 25, 1965 Leon Hojegian
was a deputy silo commander. He has provided a roster of all men who
served in the 566th along with their last known address. The files
